Balladyna – Krzysztof Domaradzki Posted: 15 May 2011 06:06 AM PDT Here's a set of illustrations created for a publication of 'Balladyna' by Juliusz Slowacki, a famous Polish Romantic poet, considered to be one of the 'Three Bards' of Polish literature. Unfortunately due to the current financial crisis the project was cancelled. However I don't think this should detract from the incredible work carried out by designer and illustrator Krzysztof Domaradzki of Polish-based StudioKxx. Interestingly enough Juliusz was able to adapt the original design for another client in order to promote The Non Cadenza jazz/soul ensemble form St. Petersburg. A few artists and designers from around the globe were asked to create an artwork inspired by their music. The song he was commissioned to visually interpret is entitled 'Half of me' and he used the character Goplana the Queen of Goplo lake from Balladyna to depict the duality of human nature which oscillates between good and evil.
