Indoor Street Art by Paul Baines |
Posted: 02 May 2011 03:28 AM PDT A hyper-realist painter from New York, a friend of the likes of Bowie and Moby, with an avid wealthy following who turn up at his shows and spend up and over $50k on his larger works. His art is technically astounding, he's represented by Jay Jopling (Damien Hirst's agent) and his eye is definitely drawn to the urban. Lower brow idioms of sci-fi, popular culture, journalism and the media sidle comfortably with more rarefied literary and fine art influences, all of which combines with a sublime eye to produce some of the finest photo realistic urban paintings in the world. If you want to know more there are literally a 100 articles on the guy here. |
