Posted: 14 May 2011 06:01 AM PDT N.Y artist and muralist Nicholas Forker's latest work at the corner of Houston and Elizabeth to see . The mural is based some of his epic astronaut drawings and can be seen painted on the side of Rag & Bone. Here's a quote about the piece: "In his most recent work, Nicholas Forker uses hero as metaphor to imagine a new narrative for the latter half of the 20th century. Told by faceless astronauts embedded in the mundane, it is the story of the disenfranchised every-man. As the American dream fizzles in the face of unchecked corporate avarice and a culture of isolation pervades daily life, who is held accountable? Nicholas grew up in the Midwest, his grandfather and great uncles before him learned draughtsmen. In 2004, Nicholas moved to Brooklyn, N.Y as the result of a coin toss, where he continues to live and work today."
