The Heaviest – KMNDZ – FIFTY24SF Posted: 11 Apr 2011 03:34 AM PDT Here's a quickie about the current "Heaviest" show by Johnny "KMNDZ" Rodriguez on at Fifty 24SF Gallery this April which is still showing until the 19th. Still time to grab some robot lurve! A successful leader in the graphic design community, this LA based artist has worked for some of the world’s biggest design agencies and top entertainment companies including MTV Networks, Universal Pictures, Microsoft, Lexus, Disney and Activision However, first and foremost, Johnny is an artist. He attributes his success in commercial design as a direct result of his passion for art. KMDNZ is about both the past and the future. Rodriguez’s art work is quite different from his graphics. Drawing from his own life, his paintings are filled with memories of family and friends, religious undertones, and iconic steampunk'd elements. "I paint about the things that have meaning in my life, and it’s amazing to know that it touches others." Aww…
Robots, floating bombs and the ever-so-slight influence of Jasper Johns are abound – if you want to be touched some more visit… FIFTY24SF GALLERY |
