Sushmita Sen (Bengali: born 19 November 1975) is an Indian actress who appears in mainly Bollywood films. A former model, Sen was crowned Miss Universe in 1994.She was the first Indian woman to win the contest.

She was dubbed too westernized, too tall for Indian heroes. But Sushmita has accepted it all with a pinch of salt. The success of Biwi No.1 along with her dance number in Sirf Tum, Fiza and Kyonki Main Jhooth Nahi Bolta changed her equation in Bollywood. She has got very rave reviews for convincing portrayal of her character in the film Filhaal. On a personal front, Sushmita is a charmer, an easygoing person who loves writing poetry. She has adopted a baby girl whom she has named Renee.
