| Paintings using only beer by Karen Eland Posted: 02 Oct 2011 09:32 PM PDT Karen Eland uses a rather uncommon medium for painting her paintings: she is using nothing but beer. She started her artistic career doing portraits with the usual mediums like watercolors and colored pencils, but she tried experimenting making portraits with coffee, which made her quite known. After a while, she realized there are a lot of other drinks and foods she could experiment with, so she tried different liquids as a medium like tea, beer and various liquors but beer eventually proved the most promising.
