Minah Bunga

Seriously, I am getting bored painting the traditional flowers. I need to break the monotony, so here are two line drawings I did today. Will include these in the upcoming Floral Choral Exhibition.

Old rose

Posted:

Found this rose lying in my portfolio bag. Thought I include it in the Floral Choral Exhibition, Putrajaya. I drew it few years back using Arches Watercolor Paper (cold pressed 300lb), the most expensive watercolor paper I ever bought. For a pad of 10 pcs A5, it was RM50.

Champaca done

Posted:

Watercolor on watercolor paper (click to see larger version) Locally, it is called Cempaka. Scientifically it is named Michelia Champaca. The name comes from the Sanskrit word Campaka. Common names in other languages include Chenbagam in Malayalam or golden champa in Bengali. Malay language is mostly derived from Sanskrit, hence the name Cempaka.
