Posted: Watercolor on watercolor paper (click to see larger version) Locally, it is called Cempaka. Scientifically it is named Michelia Champaca. The name comes from the Sanskrit word Campaka. Common names in other languages include Chenbagam in Malayalam or golden champa in Bengali. Malay language is mostly derived from Sanskrit, hence the name Cempaka. |
